Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

Kara graduated from Western University in 2012 with an Honors Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree and then continued her education at Queens University, graduating in 2016 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Kara started working as an orthopaedic physiotherapist but soon developed an interest in women’s health and decided to complete the Pelvic Floor Levels 1-3 in 2018. This provided her with the skills to start assessing and treating women and men with urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. Once she started practicing pelvic health physiotherapy her passion grew for it as she saw how with the proper education and treatment it could have such a positive impact on someone’s quality of life. Kara has continued her education and completed courses on Pregnancy & Pelvic Girdle Pain, Diastasis Rectus Abdominis, cesarean Birth, Bowel Pathology & Function, Electrical Stimulation for Pelvic Health, and Pelvic Health Care for Trans & Gender Diverse People. In addition, she has completed courses in Soft Tissue Release, Acupuncture, and K-Taping.

Kara is excited to be apart of the Kingston Pelvic Health team and continue gaining knowledge and refining her skills through the mentorship with Cindy Auchincloss. In her spare time Kara enjoys travelling, swimming, horseback riding, Pilates, spending time with family and friends, and going on trail walks with her boyfriend and their Australian Shepherd puppy.
